Are you going through Olympics withdrawal? Perhaps you grew weary of the NBC coverage. Maybe you hated NOT knowing the results. You might be the kind of person who WANTED to know the results! Well, unless you were out of the country and did not have any social media interaction…you must have had some kind of reaction to the Olympics.
I was on vacation for most of the two weeks. So in between trips to the pool, the outlets, great restaurants, I also watched A LOT of the televised events. I loaded my phone with the latest NBC and London Olympic apps so I could catch the latest scores or view a few ‘online’ only events.
I cheered incessantly for Michael Phelps, after all he is from Maryland and so am I. I became an instant Women’s Gymnastic Team fan. I searched online for more information on swimming sensation Missy Franklin and diving star Tom Daly. I followed WAY too many twitter accounts of Olympians. I watched in amazement at the speed of Usain Bolt. I rooted for the seasoned Beach Volleyball team. I had tears in my eyes when Jordan failed to move forward in the All Round. I teared up at lots of the back stories..and honestly, I teared up during a few of the commercials.
I hated for it all to end. So last night during the Closing Ceremony, I played a few rounds of Bananagrams with the cool London 2012 version of the game. Bananagrams is an England business, so they were selected as one of the official ‘games’ of the Olympics and made a special version of the game. I love Bananagrams, as you can tell from my earlier review. When I found out about this new version, I HAD to get it. Alas, I couldn’t find it here in the states. So I searched on google and found it on eBay and Amazon London. To get my money’s worth out of the shipping and handling, I ordered two sets. AND one of you is going to win the second set.
The Special Edition London Olympics Banangrams has the cool pink trim that matches the London Olympics symbol (I posted it on my blog last week). It also has 5 special tiles that represent 5 events at these Olympics. These special tiles can be used for any letter. Have you ever played the game and ‘dumped’ to get that extra vowel or a much needed ‘S’? Use one of these tiles for whatever letter you want!
