Archives For Life

Last spring I posted a How-To for creating a customized iPhone case. I happened to use a very beautiful picture of my great nephew…and the rest is history. I keep getting hits on that page. I keep finding it posted on other’s sites and Pinterest boards.

This week I noticed a site keep sending visitors my way. When I checked it out I found my post in a list of 15 DIY iPhone cases on the Shelterness site. Here’s their link.

So, if you haven’t seen my post or pinned it yet to your Pinterest board–here’s another chance!! Click on photo to go to the instruction page.

How often have you thought, ‘that would be a perfect picture?’ Often times it is a matter of timing. For me it’s about having a camera handy :) Well a few nights ago I caught this shot on my iPhone. Perfect timing. His hair and shirt aren’t even wet yet!

This morning I ran across a post, The 50 Most Perfectly Timed Photos Ever.  It showed up in a twitter post from Michael Hyatt. If you love the incredible–you will love these pictures. In their comments it says these were all real pictures-not photoshopped. Let me know which one was your favorite. I liked 9, 26 and 31!

Now for a few fun facts about me….which I hope will encourage you to stop back/follow or bookmark my site.

  • I am single and work full-time for a youth ministry—and I love my job!
  • I have 3 great siblings, 2 nieces and 2 nephews and 1 adorable great-nephew.
  • The most important relationship in my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • I love trying new products and occasionally host a giveaway on my site.
  • I love coffee, my Keurig and CoffeeMate creamers!
  • During my spare time I read, cook, scrapbook and take photos. I am not really that great at any of those things, but I love having hobbies and really enjoy trying new things. (Favorite DIY post- A personalized iPhone case)
  • I am in my second year of selling Scentsy and Velata. Scentsy is a wax based warmer system and I love the quality of our products. Velata is our venture into melted chocolate and cheese. Yummo! Now, for a fun party treat…check out my version of Rainbow Explosion Cookies.

Ingredients
one package of sugar cookie refrigerated dough.
Good quality food coloring (I used McCormack Neon colors, but Wilton colors work also)
Lots of rainbow sprinkles.

1. Divide dough into 5 small balls.
2. Add food coloring to each ball and mix thoroughly.
3. Roll dough into walnut sized balls.
4. Create dough ‘snakes’ out of the balls.
5. Intertwine the 5 snakes and then roll into a pinwheel shape. Flatten a little.
6. Roll edges in sprinkles and bake for 10-12 minutes in 350 degree oven.

Here are my results- I had help from my nephew. Although neither of us are expert bakers, we loved the cookies. You can read the full story with step by step pictures here.

Thanks for visiting!! Here’s a hint I have used in the past few years–I never get to all the blogs and follow sites during the week, but the 5 Minute site stays active for a LONG time. So keep going back to the linky and checking out new bloggers!!

Although I am a huge fan of Christmas, today is my favorite day of the year. I am celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus. For those of the Christian faith today is the day to remember the reason for the Christmas Child. Christ came into the world as a baby and he left the world as a Savior. More than a good teacher, although his teachings are remarkable, his death on the Cross made it possible for me to know real love. His triumph over death makes it possible for me to know real life–here and forever. His example of how to live, to serve, to see the poor and to love others changes the way I live. I make different choices now. I see people the way the Creator sees them and I am moved to make a difference in this world. It’s not an easy path, but the blessings along the way make my joy complete.

It all started with a simple prayer and it has led to life well-lived. It began a transformation in my life and heart and it is not over. He holds me in His hand and calls me His beloved. I hope you know He loves you too!

Happy Easter.

I am visiting my sister for the holidays, so as we were getting ready to prepare the eggs, we got into a good debate about how to make the perfect hard-boiled egg. I remembered my post from last year, so we referred to it. Perhaps you are searching for the perfect recipe….if so. please check out Hard Boiled Eggs – Perfect every Time from last year.

Do you have any favorite hints for boiling eggs or dye them? Please put a link in the comments. And seriously, why don’t we dye eggs more often—it is so fun!
