    When my son was living at home – no tree until December 23 because his birthday is the 22nd and we wanted to keep his birthday “special” and separate. Now that he has moved away – it is usually a week or so before the 25th.

    Hiya! :) I prefer waiting until at least the calendar changes to December. And I try to wait until January 6th to take the stuff down, since the 25th – 6th are the actual 12 days of Christmas, but usually give up on the 1st. :)

    We use to put it up the day after Thanksgiving, unfortunately our kids are grown, my father passed on when he was only 69, and my mother passed right before christmas in 1996. Sorry to say I haven’t put one up since then.

    It used to be “whenever” but our son is now 3 yrs old & ever since his first xmas, when he was 6mos old, we’ve made a really fun & exciting tradition out of going to a tree farm that has a massive house turned into a gift shop/candy factory/ tea & coffee lounge with a Santa on site for photos. We get to walk through acres of firs & nobles & choose our own tree & then they have high school kids out there that you flag down to cut it for you. I LOVE IT! We do this every year now the day after Thanksgiving… like many others ;) Want to know the best part? My husband & his family are Jewish… hehe. <3

    It depends on if we put up the fake tree or if my husband lets me pick a real one. If it’s a fake year, the tree goes up the day after my husband’s birthday – December 4th. If it’s a real one, I take the kids to pick one out around the 12th or so.

    When the kids were small, we all had fun putting up the tree. Now that they are grown, I don’t put a tree up anymore. I put up a couple of those little table ones.

    Our tree goes up anywhere from a week to 2 days before Christmas and goes down one to three days after. We had a Charlie Brown tree last year because the Army packed and moved our stuff 3 days before Christmas.
