Christmas-Holiday Music. Love it! Love, Love it when it’s Free!

I love the holidays–I start playing Christmas music WAY TOO EARLY–and I’m not embarrassed to say it! I love finding the best deals too. So naturally I am excited during the holidays when there is so much free and cheap music available.

A staple of my holiday music search is Amazon.com. This year, once again they are hosting the 25 Days of Free Holiday Music. Today is Day 5 and the selection is Greensleeves by Manheim Steamroller (a holiday favorite!). Each of the previous days are also available. So please go check it out.

FeelsLikeChristmas.com has been offering free downloads for a few years. They offer Traditional or Contemporary Instrumental or Vocal. Sure to be a few on there that you want to listen to while you work, decorate, etc.

Amazon and iTunes are offering some cheaper Holiday Albums ($7.99 and under) If you want the whole album then this is your sale. Both sites also offer holiday singles at reduced prices also.

If you are a Pandora or Spotify fan then you know the beauty of setting up your own radio station. I have a Mariah Carey Christmas one and a Bing Crosby one. Also check out live365.com for radio station music presets (Christmas Jazz, Smoky Mountain Christmas, Blue Light Specials and more).

One of the reasons I constantly play Christmas music is that I am often with my 83 year old Mom who has Alzheimer’s. Many memories are gone, but Christmas lives on. We play music constantly when she is here and it is such a sweet picture to see her looking at a magazine or doodling some art piece and singing along to the classic songs and carols.

What’s your favorite Christmas song–traditional or classic?
My two favorites are Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is You and Joy to the World by Allen Levi, Bebo Norman and Ed Cash.

Pretty tree! My fave Christmas songs are “All I want For Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” by Judy Garland in Meet Me in St. Louis and any version of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home”. Michael Buble does a great version of that on his new Christmas album.

“What Child is This?” Is my favorite Christmas song. I have multiple covers of it on the iPod.

I listen to the John Denver version all year. It is not just my favorite Christmas song, it is one of my favorite songs!

I, also, like Carol of the Bells on the classical piano by George Winston..

I have been listening to several channels on XM that play Christmas music (it is sort of free being that my husband pays that bill.)
